SHELL IdeaRefinery Programme

Executive Summary:
In line with their mission of being the “living lab” of energy innovation for the nation, SHELL IdeaRefinery is a 12-week programme that aims to increase the mix of energy startups in Singapore. Startup2Life collaborated with SHELL and energy experts Enrupt to develop the programme and mentor developing fledging startups and established startups to explore opportunities in the energy sector, eventually leading up to a Demo Day at Singapore International Energy Week.

How we helped:
Startup2Life partnered with Enrupt – an open innovation company specialized in the energy sector – to create a robust accelerator programme for SHELL that is entrenched in expertise and insights from several energy sectors. The programme curriculum focuses on opportunities and pain points within the energy sector, as well as imparts key business and entrepreneurship knowledge. We conducted mentoring sessions with the startups and facilitated networking opportunities of the startups with relevant. corporates, accelerators, investors, academia and government agencies.

Dentsu Aegis Network and iProspect’s Female Foundry Programme

Executive Summary:
Dentsu Aegis Network and iProspect launched Female Foundry – an accelerator programme –  to educate, mentor and provide funding access to leading female-founded tech startups. They invited Startup2Life.com Founder Anna C. Mallon to design and deliver the 2-day boot camp, where they went through training and mentorship to create commercially viable businesses.The programme culminated to a demo day to help secure possible second round funding, a key hurdle for female-led startups in this region.

How we helped:
Leveraging on our expertise in corporate innovation and startup mentoring in South East Asia, Startup2Life planned and structured the Female Foundry programme taking into consideration the needs of various stakeholders. Anna also personally trained the shortlisted female entrepreneurs during the bootcamp, covering aspects such as how to scale platforms. Being a mother and a fellow entrepreneur as well, Anna also served as a mentor figure to the participants while they prepare for their Demo Day at the end of the programme. The Demo Day Pitch was held at LinkedIn in front of celebrated judges including venture capitalists and Executive Directors.

SCOR Design Thinking Workshops

in partnership with The Creative Experience

Executive Summary:
SCOR engaged Startup2Life to design a comprehensive, sustainable employee training programme as part of its efforts to remain innovative and competitive as well as provide professional development. 

Startup2Life and The Creative Experience delivered the first SCOR Design Thinking workshop in 2018 and have been working together with SCOR to design a long-term workshop series.

How we helped:
In partnership with sister company The Creative Experience, Startup2Life designed and delivered a series of innovation workshops for mid and senior-level executives that have been carried out twice yearly since 2018. The workshops aim to cover the fundamentals of design thinking, to lead a company’s team through the Process of Solving Problems from a new perspective and with new tools.

OVERCOMING CHALLENGES

  • Designing and delivering a comprehensive, long term Design Thinking workshop that is relevant to employees across various departments with end goal for them to be able to apply it in daily work.

RESULTS, ROI, FUTURE PLANS

  • As of April 2019, Startup2Life have delivered the workshop to 2 batches of SCOR mid and senior-level employees with XXX more upcoming workshops for the year
  • Provided participants access to tools, training and resources for Design Thinking, and kickstarted their journey to incorporating a Creative Mindset in tackling problems
